तथ्य पडताळणी धोरण (Fact-Checking Policy)

प्रस्तावना
दैनिक शुभ प्रभात वाचकांपर्यंत अचूक, विश्वासार्ह आणि तथ्याधारित माहिती पोहोचवण्यास कटिबद्ध आहे. चुकीची, दिशाभूल करणारी किंवा अपूर्ण माहिती प्रसारित होऊ नये, यासाठी उपलब्ध साधने आणि स्रोतांच्या आधारे माहितीची पडताळणी करण्याचा आम्ही प्रयत्न करतो.
१. माहितीची पडताळणी
बातमी प्रकाशित करण्यापूर्वी शक्य तितक्या प्रमाणात पुढील बाबी तपासल्या जाऊ शकतात:
- व्यक्ती आणि संस्थांची नावे
- घटना घडल्याचे ठिकाण
- तारीख आणि वेळ
- अधिकृत आकडेवारी
- पदनामे आणि जबाबदाऱ्या
- सरकारी आदेश आणि परिपत्रके
- उपलब्ध कागदपत्रे
- छायाचित्रे आणि व्हिडिओंचा संदर्भ
- संबंधित पक्षांची भूमिका
२. प्राथमिक आणि अधिकृत स्रोत
शक्य असल्यास आम्ही पुढील स्रोतांना प्राधान्य देतो:
- अधिकृत सरकारी वेबसाइट आणि पोर्टल
- सरकारी आदेश आणि अधिसूचना
- न्यायालयीन आदेश आणि सार्वजनिक नोंदी
- पोलीस आणि प्रशासनाची अधिकृत माहिती
- संबंधित संस्था किंवा व्यक्तीचे अधिकृत निवेदन
- प्रत्यक्ष घटनास्थळावरील माहिती
- दैनिक शुभ प्रभातचे पत्रकार आणि प्रतिनिधी
- विश्वसनीय वृत्तसंस्था
३. एकापेक्षा अधिक स्रोत
गंभीर आरोप, वादग्रस्त दावे किंवा मोठ्या सार्वजनिक परिणामाच्या बातम्यांसाठी शक्य असल्यास एकापेक्षा अधिक विश्वसनीय स्रोतांद्वारे माहितीची पडताळणी करण्याचा प्रयत्न केला जातो.
४. सोशल मीडियावरील माहिती
सोशल मीडियावर व्हायरल होणारी पोस्ट, छायाचित्र, व्हिडिओ किंवा दावा केवळ मोठ्या प्रमाणात शेअर होत आहे म्हणून तो सत्य मानला जात नाही.
अशा सामग्रीची पडताळणी करताना पुढील बाबींचा विचार केला जाऊ शकतो:
- मूळ पोस्ट किंवा स्रोत
- पोस्ट प्रकाशित झाल्याची तारीख
- छायाचित्र किंवा व्हिडिओचा मूळ संदर्भ
- अधिकृत स्पष्टीकरण
- संबंधित व्यक्ती किंवा संस्थेची प्रतिक्रिया
- उपलब्ध डिजिटल पडताळणी साधने
पडताळणी न झालेली माहिती सत्य म्हणून प्रकाशित न करण्याचा आमचा प्रयत्न आहे.
५. छायाचित्रे आणि व्हिडिओंची पडताळणी
व्हायरल छायाचित्रे किंवा व्हिडिओंच्या बाबतीत पुढील गोष्टी तपासण्याचा प्रयत्न केला जाऊ शकतो:
- दृश्य सामग्री जुनी आहे का?
- ती दुसऱ्या ठिकाणची आहे का?
- मूळ संदर्भ बदलण्यात आला आहे का?
- सामग्री संपादित किंवा फेरफार केलेली आहे का?
- अधिकृत किंवा विश्वसनीय स्रोतांनी त्याची पुष्टी केली आहे का?
६. आकडेवारी आणि दस्तऐवज
आकडेवारी, सर्वेक्षण, अहवाल किंवा सरकारी माहिती वापरताना शक्य असल्यास मूळ स्रोत तपासण्याचा प्रयत्न केला जातो.
कागदपत्रांची सत्यता संशयास्पद असल्यास त्यावर आधारित गंभीर दावे प्रकाशित करण्यापूर्वी अतिरिक्त पडताळणी केली जाऊ शकते.
७. संबंधित पक्षाची प्रतिक्रिया
एखाद्या व्यक्ती किंवा संस्थेविरुद्ध गंभीर आरोप असल्यास संबंधित पक्षाची भूमिका जाणून घेण्याचा व त्यांना प्रतिसादाची वाजवी संधी देण्याचा प्रयत्न केला जातो.
प्रतिक्रिया उपलब्ध नसल्यास ती बाब बातमीत नमूद केली जाऊ शकते. प्रतिक्रिया नंतर प्राप्त झाल्यास बातमी अद्ययावत केली जाऊ शकते.
८. अनिश्चित माहिती
एखादी माहिती पूर्णपणे पडताळता आली नसल्यास ती निश्चित तथ्य म्हणून मांडली जाणार नाही.
आवश्यकतेनुसार “प्राथमिक माहितीनुसार”, “अधिकृत पुष्टी अद्याप झालेली नाही” किंवा तत्सम स्पष्ट भाषा वापरली जाऊ शकते.
९. चुका आढळल्यास
प्रकाशित बातमीत तथ्यात्मक चूक आढळल्यास आम्ही:
- संबंधित माहितीची पुनर्तपासणी करू शकतो
- उपलब्ध पुरावे तपासू शकतो
- आवश्यक असल्यास बातमी दुरुस्त करू शकतो
- स्पष्टीकरण किंवा अद्यतन प्रकाशित करू शकतो
१०. वाचकांचा सहभाग
वाचकांना एखाद्या बातमीत तथ्यात्मक चूक आढळल्यास त्यांनी पुढील माहिती पाठवावी:
- संबंधित बातमीची लिंक
- चुकीचा वाटणारा मजकूर
- योग्य माहिती
- उपलब्ध पुरावे किंवा अधिकृत स्रोत

Dainik Shubh Prabhat is committed to providing its readers with accurate, reliable, and fact-based information. We make reasonable efforts to verify information using available sources and tools in order to reduce the risk of publishing false, misleading, or materially incomplete information.
1. Verification of Information
Before publishing a news report, we may verify, where relevant and reasonably possible:
- Names of individuals and organizations
- Location of the event
- Date and time
- Official statistics and figures
- Designations and official responsibilities
- Government orders, notifications, and circulars
- Available documents and records
- Context of photographs and videos
- Responses from relevant parties
2. Primary and Official Sources
Where possible, we give priority to sources including:
- Official government websites and portals
- Government orders and notifications
- Court orders and public records
- Official information from police and administrative authorities
- Official statements from relevant persons or organizations
- First-hand information from the scene of an event
- Dainik Shubh Prabhat journalists and correspondents
- Reliable news agencies and established information sources
3. Multiple Sources
For serious allegations, disputed claims, or stories with significant public consequences, we make reasonable efforts to verify information through more than one credible source whenever possible.
4. Information from Social Media
A post, photograph, video, or claim circulating widely on social media is not treated as true merely because it has been shared many times.
When verifying social media content, we may examine:
- The original post or source
- The date of publication
- The original context of the photograph or video
- Official clarifications
- Responses from relevant persons or organizations
- Available digital verification tools
We strive not to present unverified social media claims as established facts.
5. Verification of Photographs and Videos
When dealing with viral photographs or videos, we may attempt to determine:
- Whether the visual content is old
- Whether it originated from a different location
- Whether the original context has been changed
- Whether the content has been edited or manipulated
- Whether official or credible sources have confirmed its authenticity
6. Statistics and Documents
When using statistics, surveys, reports, or government data, we make reasonable efforts to refer to the original source where possible.
If the authenticity of a document is uncertain, additional verification may be carried out before publishing serious claims based on that document.
7. Right of Reply
When serious allegations are made against an individual or organization, we make reasonable efforts to seek their response and provide a fair opportunity to comment.
If a response is not available at the time of publication, this may be stated in the report. If a response is received later, the article may be updated where appropriate.
8. Uncertain or Developing Information
If information cannot be fully verified, it should not be presented as a confirmed fact.
Where appropriate, clear language may be used, such as:
- “According to preliminary information”
- “Official confirmation is awaited”
- “The claim could not be independently verified”
9. When Errors Are Identified
If a factual error is identified in a published report, we may:
- Re-examine the information
- Review the available evidence
- Correct the article where necessary
- Publish a clarification or update
10. Reader Participation
If readers identify a possible factual error in a published report, they are encouraged to provide:
