विश्वसनीय आणि जबाबदार पत्रकारितेच्या माध्यमातून वाचकांना अचूक माहिती उपलब्ध करून देणे तसेच सर्वसामान्य नागरिकांच्या प्रश्नांना प्रभावी व्यासपीठ उपलब्ध करून देणे, हे आमचे प्रमुख उद्दिष्ट आहे.
१. संपादकीय स्वातंत्र्य
दैनिक शुभ प्रभातचे संपादकीय निर्णय पत्रकारितेची मूल्ये, उपलब्ध तथ्ये, जनहित आणि संपादकीय विवेक यांच्या आधारे घेतले जातात.
कोणती बातमी, लेख, संपादकीय, छायाचित्र, व्हिडिओ किंवा अन्य सामग्री प्रकाशित, अद्ययावत, दुरुस्त किंवा हटवायची, याचा निर्णय संपादकीय विभाग घेतो.
कोणत्याही व्यक्ती, राजकीय पक्ष, संस्था, व्यावसायिक समूह, जाहिरातदार किंवा दबावगटाचा अनुचित प्रभाव संपादकीय निर्णयांवर पडू नये, यासाठी आम्ही प्रयत्नशील आहोत.
२. अचूकता आणि सत्यता
बातमी प्रकाशित करण्यापूर्वी उपलब्ध माहितीची शक्य तितकी पडताळणी करण्याचा आम्ही प्रयत्न करतो.
त्यासाठी पुढील स्रोतांचा आधार घेतला जाऊ शकतो:
- अधिकृत कागदपत्रे आणि निवेदने
- सरकारी विभाग आणि संस्थांची माहिती
- प्रत्यक्ष घटनास्थळावरील माहिती
- पत्रकार आणि प्रतिनिधींचे वृत्तांकन
- संबंधित व्यक्ती किंवा पक्षांची भूमिका
- सार्वजनिक नोंदी आणि विश्वसनीय दस्तऐवज
- विश्वासार्ह वृत्तसंस्था आणि माहिती स्रोत
अपूर्ण, दिशाभूल करणारी किंवा जाणीवपूर्वक खोटी माहिती प्रकाशित न करण्याचा आमचा प्रयत्न असतो.
३. निष्पक्षता आणि संतुलन
वादग्रस्त किंवा गंभीर स्वरूपाच्या बातम्यांमध्ये संबंधित सर्व महत्त्वाच्या पक्षांची भूमिका जाणून घेण्याचा व त्यांना योग्य संधी देण्याचा आम्ही प्रयत्न करतो.
एखाद्या पक्षाची प्रतिक्रिया तात्काळ उपलब्ध नसल्यास, उपलब्ध तथ्यांच्या आधारे बातमी प्रकाशित केली जाऊ शकते. संबंधित प्रतिक्रिया नंतर प्राप्त झाल्यास आवश्यकतेनुसार बातमी अद्ययावत केली जाऊ शकते.
४. बातमी आणि मत यातील फरक
बातमी, विश्लेषण, संपादकीय, मतलेख आणि जाहिरात यामध्ये शक्य तितका स्पष्ट फरक राखण्याचा आम्ही प्रयत्न करतो.
संपादकीय किंवा मतलेखातील विचार हे संबंधित लेखकाचे किंवा संपादकीय विभागाचे मत असू शकते. ते प्रत्येक वेळी दैनिक शुभ प्रभातच्या सर्व प्रतिनिधी किंवा वाचकांचे मत असेलच असे नाही.
५. स्थानिक आणि जनहिताच्या पत्रकारितेला प्राधान्य
दैनिक शुभ प्रभात विशेषतः जालना जिल्हा, मराठवाडा आणि महाराष्ट्रातील स्थानिक व ग्रामीण प्रश्नांना प्राधान्य देते.

६. संवेदनशील विषयांचे वृत्तांकन
अपघात, आत्महत्या, लैंगिक अत्याचार, बालकांशी संबंधित प्रकरणे, कौटुंबिक हिंसाचार आणि इतर संवेदनशील विषयांचे वृत्तांकन करताना लागू कायदे, गोपनीयता, मानवी प्रतिष्ठा आणि पत्रकारितेची नैतिकता यांचा विचार करण्याचा आम्ही प्रयत्न करतो.
कायद्याने प्रतिबंधित असलेल्या प्रकरणांमध्ये पीडित किंवा बालकाची ओळख उघड होणार नाही, याची आवश्यक काळजी घेतली जाते.
७. छायाचित्रे आणि व्हिडिओ
छायाचित्रे आणि व्हिडिओ वापरताना त्यांचा संदर्भ अचूक ठेवण्याचा प्रयत्न केला जातो.
वाचकांची दिशाभूल होईल अशा पद्धतीने दृश्य सामग्री सादर न करण्याचे आमचे धोरण आहे. प्रतीकात्मक किंवा संग्रहित छायाचित्र वापरल्यास आवश्यकतेनुसार त्याचा उल्लेख केला जाऊ शकतो.
८. स्रोतांची गोपनीयता
काही प्रकरणांमध्ये जनहितासाठी माहिती देणाऱ्या गोपनीय स्रोतांची ओळख सुरक्षित ठेवली जाऊ शकते.
मात्र, निनावी स्रोतांकडून मिळालेल्या माहितीवर आधारित गंभीर आरोप प्रकाशित करण्यापूर्वी उपलब्ध माहितीची स्वतंत्र पडताळणी करण्याचा प्रयत्न केला जातो.
९. हितसंबंधांचा संघर्ष
पत्रकार, प्रतिनिधी आणि संपादकीय सहकाऱ्यांनी त्यांच्या वैयक्तिक, आर्थिक किंवा इतर हितसंबंधांमुळे वृत्तांकनाच्या निष्पक्षतेवर परिणाम होणार नाही, याची काळजी घेणे अपेक्षित आहे.
१०. जाहिरात आणि संपादकीय मजकूर
जाहिराती आणि प्रायोजित सामग्री यांना शक्य तितके संपादकीय बातम्यांपासून वेगळे ठेवण्याचा प्रयत्न केला जातो.
जाहिरातदाराला केवळ जाहिरात दिल्यामुळे संपादकीय निर्णयांवर नियंत्रण मिळत नाही.
११. दुरुस्ती आणि अद्यतने
प्रकाशित बातमीत तथ्यात्मक त्रुटी आढळल्यास ती तपासून आवश्यक दुरुस्ती, स्पष्टीकरण किंवा अद्यतन करण्यास आम्ही कटिबद्ध आहोत.
